Your goals tell you what matters. To stay in the Lasting Zone, all you have to do is look at your goals and plan things during the week that help you accomplish your goals.

Here’s how you can use your goals to keep yourself in the Lasting Zone:

Review your goals
At the beginning of the week, set aside half an hour to review your goals.
Create your weekly action items
On a separate piece of paper or word processing document, list all the things you can do in the following week to accomplish your goals. For example, if you want a scholarship to college one day, you should list anything you can do this week to someday get that scholarship—for example, doing your homework.
Schedule your Lasting Zone action items
Take the list of Lasting Zone activities and put each item into your weekly calendar. You can use a free online calendar or a spiraled planner.
Follow your schedule
Now all you have to do is follow your schedule and you will automatically be spending lots of time in the Lasting Zone. If you sync your online calendar with your phone, you will get automated schedule reminders on your phone.
Create a new list of Lasting Zone activities at the beginning of every week
It is OK if the lists look similar from week to week.

Here are some tips for planning the lasting zone actions.

Planning the Lasting Zone Actions

North Star: Complete your North Star. Please look at your completed North Star from Lesson 02.06.

Prioritize your Actions: Now, write down 3 priorities for this week. You can do this several ways:

Put a note on your bathroom mirror or corkboard, write a note on your Smartphone, type your priorities into a document, or record yourself saying them. Just get them down!

Set an Alarm: Set an alarm on your phone or computer, or put a note on your calendar to remind you to check up on yourself throughout the week. Are you achieving those priorities by working to stay in the Lasting Zone?
